Ecology and Environment Period 6

     Course Description
      1 credit - 1 period per day 5 days a week - Full Year Course
The focus is on the application of scientific concepts through traditional classroom instruction, laboratory demonstrations and selected laboratory experiments that can be safely accomplished in one class period.  The course is designed to provide the student with basic knowledge in the following concepts which will prepare students for the Ecology section on the Biology Keystone Exam:  Introduction to Environmental Science, Science and the Environment, Ecology, Organization of Life, How Ecosystems Work, Biomes, Aquatic Ecosystems, Populations, Understanding Populations, The Human Population and Biodiversity, Water and Air, Pollution, Our Health and Our Future, The Environment and Human Health.
