This course is intended to prepare graduating seniors for reading and writing in the professional workforce. The reading focus follows the origins and development of the English language from the Anglo-Saxon Period to the Modem Period. Students read various genres including plays, poems, novels, short  stories and nonfiction pieces. The composition segment features essays that reinforce the Pennsylvania State Standards. Students evaluate their individual strengths and weaknesses as focal points for various writing assignments. In addition, a career-focused research paper/senior project is constructed. Students are expected  to incorporate time-management and organizational skills and a respectable work ethic.
