About Mrs. White

Dear Jeannette Parents/Guardians,
It is an honor to introduce myself as the newly appointed Intermediate Principal for students in grades 5-8. For the past two years, I have been the Assistant Principal in the McKee Elementary building and looking forward to extend my role to working with students and parents in both the Elementary and Jr/Sr High buildings.
I would like to officially welcome you and your children to the 2021-2022 school year! As we know there has been a lot of change over the past year and a half when it comes to education, but I can promise you this school year will be great. The teaching staff in both building has been working hard throughout the summer to plan and prepare lessons, expectations, events and more for your child to be excited to return to school. We are ready to accomplish the task to prepare all students to be successful.
I would like to highlight a few items you and your child may hear about throughout the year. Students in grades 5-8 will participate with the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program. You may also hear it being referred to the Jayhawk PRIDE Tickets. Students who are seen demonstrating behaviors that support the schools' policies and procedures are able to be recognized with an award and a ticket for a possible chance to be selected for a larger incentive throughout the year. Another program we plan on using is our STAR 360 assessments. These are given to the students three times a year to assess their growth in both ELA and Math. Staff will utilize this data to support students in areas they either need remediation or enrichment in. If you would like a copy of this report, please reach out to your child's teacher and we would be happy to provide that information to you.
Please see the following reminders and notices as we work together to provide a solid foundation for your child's education:
-Students in grades 5-6 may enter the building at 8:45am and must be in their classroom by 9:00am or will be marked tardy.
-Students in grades 7-8 may enter the building at 7:30am and must be in their homeroom by 7:40am or will be marked tardy.
-All students who are tardy must receive a pass from the main office prior to entering their classroom.
-There will be one bus run for students at McKee and one bus run for students at the Jr/Sr High School this year.
-Parent and teacher communication is key for your child's success. Please have open communication with your child's teachers.
-A student handbook for the intermediate grades will be provided to the students and families via the district website. Please ensure your review this handbook and send in a sign copy of the parent page.
Thank you for your support as we move forward with the 2021-2022 school year. I look forward to seeing you are school events!
